Comfort Is Key: The beautiful Viola Davis changes into sneakers to present at 2019 Emmys

We love a woman who knows that being fabulous is great and all, but comfort is key.
That’s why EEW Magazine Online editors collectively said go ‘head sis when the gorgeously melanated Academy Award-winning actress Viola Davis, 54, kicked off her peep-toe pumps she’d worn on the Emmy Awards purple carpet in favor of platform sneakers.
The Widows actress, who presented the supporting actor in a drama series Emmy, wore the same black and white one-shoulder custom Alberta Ferretti limited edition gown she rocked hours earlier. But when she stepped to the microphone, her split opened just enough so her silver sneakers could be seen.
She looked cute and comfy, and we are here for it all.
“Right now, I see the red carpet as a challenge in remaining my authentic self and trying the best I can to enjoy it and get through it,” Davis told Yahoo Style.
She added, “It’s pretty daunting. If I feel like I have to alter who I am, that makes me uncomfortable. That doesn’t work for me.”
The How to Get Away with Murder star, who recently became the newest face of L’Oréal Paris, has a reputation for prioritizing comfort. After the 2017 Oscars, before heading to the Vanity Fair Oscar party, Davis paired a gorgeous white pantsuit with gold Stella McCartney kicks—and everybody loved the look.
Whether they loved it or not, she isn’t the kind of woman that tries to fit in for approval, at least not anymore.
"As a young girl, I wasn't always told that I was smart, beautiful, or worthy. I worked tremendously hard to get where I am today – overcoming feelings of doubt to become a woman who truly believes I am 'worth it' in every way,” she said. “I believe it's so important to build confidence in women from a young age, and to role model diverse perspectives of beauty.”
These days, throngs of folks around the world heap praise upon this fab wife and mother, and it’s nice to see her getting her due.
EEW Magazine Online is pleased as punch to see Davis glowing radiantly as a byproduct of her increased confidence.
Work it!
