Wedding Bells Are Ringing: Taraji Henson reveals her wedding date

Wedding bells are ringing for actress Taraji P. Henson who confirmed she and her beau are tying the knot in the springtime!
The 49-year-old fiancée revealed that she and Kelvin Hayden will say their vows before God and man on April 4, 2020 in California’s northern Bay Area, known as wine country.
"That is where he said he fell in love with me," said the Golden Globe-winning actress in an interview with ET’s Kevin Frazier at the 2019 Emmy Awards. "We both went to the wine country and it was our first time together at the same time. He had never been. I had never been, and I did feel him fall in love."
The Christian star, best known as Cookie Lyon on Fox’s Empire, said she knew Hayden, who popped the big question in May 2018, was hers after their trip.
"I was like, ‘Got him,’" she said, adding, "Ladies, if you want him to pop the question, take him to the wine country."
Though Henson and the former NFL player don’t have all the details of their wedding worked out yet, Henson said she knows that she and her man are "looking for somewhere really exotic."
"He travels a lot and so do I,” said Henson. “We are looking for a place that neither of us have been.”

Happiness looks good on the mental health advocate who has been very open about her ongoing battle with anxiety and depression. In 2018, she launched The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation—an organization aimed at getting rid of the stigma surrounding mental health in the black community.
Henson, who is gearing up for Empire’s sixth and final season, acknowledged that her on-screen character Cookie Lyon isn’t nearly as happy as she is off screen.
"I think a lot of people in those relationships where they can't get someone out of their system, they will really understand this season because of the struggle and the love-hate relationship between her and Lucious," she said. "It is going to rip your heart out."
Thankfully, the real-life romance of the glowing bride-to-be is healthy and beautiful.
