Girl power! Meagan Good has joined the ranks of fab female filmmakers and says she is “so excited” about making her directorial debut.
The 38-year-old, who both directs and stars in If Not Now, When? — the official selection of the 2019 Urban World Film Festival— is joined by co-director Tamara LaSeon Bass.
If Not Now, When? follows four high school friends who are bonded together by an event and suddenly forced back together 15 years later after one of them faces a crisis. The indie drama explores themes of love, forgiveness and the unbreakable connection women share.
“This film is very special to us,” said Good in an Instagram post, adding it is “so needed for this generation.”
The actress, who recently made EEW Magazine Online’s list of Top 5 Christian actresses, wrote, “God is … wow,” unable to find sufficient words to express how much this moment means to her.
The movie premieres at the Urban World Film Festival Saturday, Sep. 21, at AMC Theaters in Time Square.
If Not Now, When? also stars Joelle Ashley, Erik Aude and Shamicka Benn.
Good’s career spans 30 years, with lead roles in well-known hits like "Eve's Bayou,” "Stomp the Yard,” "Think Like A Man,” and “The Intruder.”
She also top-lined "Deception" on NBC and "Minority Report" on Fox, and has previously directed music videos, a short film and the web series, "All That Matters.”
Her star keeps rising, but what EEW Magazine Online loves most is that she shines even brighter for Christ.
