A GRAMMY® Award-winning gospel singer blessed the audience at a prayer breakfast hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc.
Yolanda Adams, a talented and anointed vocalist, delivered a stunning rendition of her beloved hit song, “Just a Prayer Away,” at the 49th annual gathering at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center Saturday morning, Sep. 14.
Looking radiant in a tastefully elegant green dress, before scorching the microphone, the 58-year-old entrepreneur, radio personality and author said, “Good morning. God bless you!”
The audience reciprocated the greeting.
Then Adams said, “It is a pleasure to be here with you once again, especially at the prayer breakfast. We know what it’s all about,” noting that the song she was about to sing “epitomizes” the theme.
For nearly three decades, the Prayer Breakfast, presented by the The Coca Cola Company, has inspired thousands and built their faith. This year, the marquis event welcomed Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley, Senior Pastor of Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA, to share the morning word.
The 2019 CBCF Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) ran from September 11-15 and drew thousands of elected officials, celebrities, advocates, clergy, and college students from across the country and world.
It remains the leading policy conference on issues impacting African Americans and the global black community. Those in attendance engage surrounding topics of economic development, civil and social justice, public health and education issues.
