A popular Georgia pastor is mourning the loss of his mother who succumbed to cancer after a long, courageous battle.

Cory Condrey of Rain Fire Church in Douglasville confirmed that Donna Condrey has gone home to heaven after fighting “the good fight of faith.” She was 65.

The former BET Lift Every Voice host, husband of co-pastor JoAnn Rosario, delivered the sad news on Instagram Monday evening, Sep. 23.

“Mom fought the good fight of faith, defeating cancer many times, only for it to keep coming back,” he said.

Next to a black and white photograph of his beautiful mom beneath a warm blanket, sitting in a leather chair, he wrote, “In the last 5 years she flatlined (died) 4 times and came back. Saturday we saw another miracle when she flatlined for 10 minutes and came back again.”

Pastor Condrey, who survived a devastating, near-fatal accident in 2016, which required multiple surgeries and confined him to a wheelchair for a season, is a great man of faith—something that was apparently passed on to him from Mother Condrey.

“Mom, you fought cancer with faith, love and HOPE!” he said, adding, “She will be missed. Please keep our family in your prayers.”

Just weeks ago, on Aug. 15, the co-founder of the Condrey Evangelistic Association announced that he had moved Mother Condrey from a Nashville hospital to Emory Hospital in Georgia, hoping she would  receive better care.

“They are going to try a new way to treat it,” he said of her new medical team’s approach to fighting the disease. In addition to asking everyone to intercede for his mom’s “total healing,” and believing God to do the supernatural in her life, Pastor Condrey also seemed confident that the cancer-fighting specialists at Emory could help.

“We’ve heard a lot of good things about Emory Hospital,” he said. “We’re believing their reputation regarding cancer is true.”

Though it was not the Lord’s will to heal Mother Condrey on this side of heaven, despite the heartbreak of having to say goodbye to his mom, Pastor Condrey vows to continue striving to find a cure and assist those yet fighting for their lives.

“We will help others in their fight with cancer,” he said. “Cancer, we are not done!”

Our heart and prayers go out to the Condrey family and all the loved ones of the late matriarch. All her pain and suffering has come to an end.
