VIDEO: John Legend’s sweet father-son moment with Miles melts our hearts

“The Voice” judge, John Legend, was captured on video tickling the ivory with his too-cute-for-words, one-year-old son Miles—and our hearts are melting.
Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen, 33, posted the clip on Instagram of the couple’s toddler perched on a piano bench next to his world famous daddy, tapping keys.
The 40-year-old EGOT winner was shown singing a classic melody from The Sound of Music— “My Favorite Things.”
“Girls in white dresses and blue satin sashes/ Snowflakes that stay on your nose and eyelashes/ Silver-white winters that melt into spring/ These are a few of my favorite things,” Legend softly sang.
Our favorite thing was watching with delight as an African-American social justice warrior spent time with his mini-me for all the world to see. If that doesn’t melt your heart too, check your pulse.
In a previous interview with journalist Katie Couric, Legend reflected on the lessons he has learned from his own father, Ron Stephens, that he also wishes to pass down to his son.
“My father taught us about character. He taught us about humility,” said the musician. “He taught me about respect. I want to teach those [things] to Miles.”
In addition to being a cooler-than-ever, devoted dad, Legend, who is known for hits like “All of Me” and “Ordinary People,” is the founder of Free America, a nonprofit that is fighting to end mass incarceration and invest in just, equitable, and thriving communities.
With the busyness of his schedule, philanthropy efforts, and all he has on his plate, Legend prioritizes time, as he should, to share special and sometimes silly moments with the kids.
This is not the first time Legend has been caught singing to one of his impossibly cute tots. In a 2018 Pampers commercial, he debuted his “Stinky Booty” anthem—a special song he sings to his daughter Luna when fulfilling diaper duty.
He truly enjoys fatherhood, and it shows. What a beautiful family.
