Piggy bank nearly empty? Are bills are due, but you don’t have nearly enough money to cover them? Being in a tight space financially is uncomfortable and can be stressful.
If you need of a reminder that God is a provider who will always make a way for you, dwell on these 7 scriptures to build your faith and expectation of divine provision.
Psalm 37:25: “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” Throughout generations, believers just like you have lived through desperate times and have seen God provide for them. Your testimony will be no different from theirs. He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
Philippians 4:19: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Although your resources are limited, God is your unlimited source. He will supply what you lack out of the abundance of His goodness. Expect provision for all your needs and don’t doubt. Our generous Heavenly Father loves showing up and blessing you in both big and small ways.
Psalm 9:10: “Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Trusting the Lord is never in vain. God always has and always will respond to faith. It is His will to feed you, clothe you and sustain you. He allows you to go through seasons of testing to strengthen your faith. But placing full confidence in Him, whatever the circumstances may be, activates His power and releases His provision.
Psalm 84:11: “For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” When you live to please God, it pleases Him to bless you. The word of God assures you that favor, honor and good things are given to the righteous. As a redeemed believer, you are already in position to reap. You are royalty and an heir of God according to Romans 8:17. There is an inheritance for you!
Genesis 22:14: “So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, ‘On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.’" Remember when Abraham was challenged by God to sacrifice his only son Isaac as a test of faith? When Isaac asked his father where the sacrifice was, Abraham answered him by saying, “The Lord will provide”—which is what Jehovah Jireh means. The same God that provided for Abraham will provide for you if you’ll only believe.
Luke 6:38: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." You have planted seeds and given out of your need, and God will favor you for that. Don’t ever think the good things you are doing and have done for the Kingdom of God are pointless. The Lord never forgets or overlooks faithfulness; He rewards it!
Luke 12:27: “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.” You don’t have to toil, worry, or figure out how God will take care of you. If He cares for the flowers and feeds the birds, why not you? Scripture tells us in Matthew 6:8 that God already knows what we need before we ask Him.
I know you would rather not be cash-strapped and in a pinch. It would feel great to know exactly how you were going to pay all your bills and have enough for basic necessities. But you don’t have to know; God already knows.
Not only that, but He has already made the way—and as the saying goes, “He may not come when you want Him, but He’ll be there right on time.”
