On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Jonathan Majors appeared on Sherri, offering a candid look at his faith journey during what he described as a "tumultuous" period in his life.
The 35-year-old actor, now in the redemptive arc of his career following legal battles stemming from a 2023 assault conviction, spoke openly with host Sherri Shepherd about how his faith has guided him through hardship. “The Bible talks about trials and tribulations, but it’s very different to find yourself in it,” Majors shared. “You look at the Bible differently, but it’s been a journey.”
Majors' legal troubles began with his arrest in Manhattan in March 2023 following an altercation with his then-girlfriend, professional dancer Grace Jabbari. He was charged with multiple counts of assault and aggravated harassment and, after a trial in New York, was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault in December 2023.

Jabbari later filed a civil lawsuit against Majors for assault and defamation, which was settled in November 2024. In April 2024, he was sentenced to a yearlong domestic violence intervention program and probation, avoiding jail time.
Reflecting on that period, Majors admitted to Shepherd, “There were days when I laid on the couch and couldn’t move.” He described the past two years as “a healing journey,” adding, “It’s been a moment of reflection. It’s been two years of growth, healing, and accountability about who I was, where I was, what I was doing, where my mind was at, where my spirit was at.”
Today, he feels transformed. “I feel different… and I love the man that I am now.”

However, Majors’ journey hasn’t been without fresh controversy. Just two days before his Sherri appearance, Rolling Stone published a report revealing a 2022 audio recording in which Majors allegedly admitted to strangling Jabbari. The conversation, captured after a fight in London while Majors was filming the second season of Loki, includes Jabbari confronting him about the alleged attack.
“I’m ashamed I’ve ever—” Majors begins, before saying, “I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman—I aggressed you.”
Jabbari interjects, “You strangled me and pushed me against the car,” to which Majors responds, “Yes, all those things are under ‘aggressed,’ yeah.”
The audio stems from the civil lawsuit Jabbari filed, in which she alleged Majors slammed her into a car, dragged her back inside their home, and strangled her.
Majors did not directly address the audio on Sherri due to his settlement agreement with Jabbari, but he alluded to ongoing challenges, saying, “God has a plan, and sometimes you just throw your hands up. I can’t speak about it, but I do know there’s a plan, and I’ve let go of control. I just say, ‘Whatever it is, it is.’”
This surrender to faith aligns with his broader reflections on healing, which he credits to therapy and his pastor, Dharius Daniels of Change Church. Majors recently opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about being sexually abused as a child, a trauma he said “became a cancer in me,” eating away at him until he confronted it through therapy and spiritual guidance.
“I dealt with sexual abuse from both men and women from the time I was nine,” he shared, noting that his “Southern” family didn’t discuss such issues, leaving him to carry the burden alone for years.
Amid these challenges, Majors is finding new joy. He confirmed on Sherri that he married actress Meagan Good on March 18, 2025, in an intimate ceremony officiated by his mother, a pastor. Tearfully, he told Shepherd, “I said to Meagan yesterday, ‘Today might be the happiest day of my life.’ I love that woman so much.”
The couple, who announced their engagement in November 2024 at the EBONY Power 100 Gala, have been a source of support for each other since they began dating in May 2023, shortly after Majors' arrest.
Majors is also promoting his new film, Magazine Dreams, a bodybuilding drama set to release on March 21, 2025, through Briarcliff Entertainment.
The film, which premiered at Sundance in 2023 to critical acclaim, was initially dropped by Searchlight Pictures following Majors' conviction but was later picked up for a theatrical release. In the movie, Majors plays Killian Maddox, an aspiring bodybuilder consumed by his dreams of fame, a role that showcases his physical and emotional depth.
While Majors' faith journey and marriage signal a new chapter, the resurfaced audio and past allegations fuel lingering questions: Can personal growth and faith truly reconcile with the harm alleged by others? Majors seems to believe so, leaning on his spirituality to navigate what lies ahead.
