Welcome Back! Dianna Hobbs returns to her ‘Daily Cup’ podcast after nearly six month absence

Dianna Hobbs will be resuming her daily podcast, Your Daily Cup of Inspiration, the top-rated Christian broadcast launched through Empowering Everyday Women Ministries in 2016.

“Dianna has returned to the ‘Daily Cup’ podcast after an extended hiatus that began in December 2020 to take much-needed time to focus on herself and be with her family after a harrowing medical crisis,” Empowering Everyday Women said in a statement Monday.

Hobbs aired her first new podcast in nearly six months today.

"We are excited about her decision and are thankful for how she uplifts many around the world through her Christian devotions," the statement continued. "The ministry will continue to support her going forward and focus on our important mission of bringing faith-building content to the masses, providing practical Bible teaching, and launching initiatives to help the hurting through our 501c3 nonprofit organization.

Hobbs, 44, is the founder of Empowering Everyday Women Ministries, Inc. that feeds the hungry, offers free literacy training to urban youth, meets humanitarian needs of women and children worldwide, partners with other like-minded charities and organizations to abate human suffering, and distributes free Christian resources globally.

The CEO and women’s ministry leader’s exit from the podcast came after she suffered a mini stroke in 2019 caused by an allergic reaction to an antibiotic prescribed to treat an infection. The rare reaction triggered more than two dozen seizures, sending her to the ICU where she remained for multiple days in critical condition. Though Hobbs emerged from the ordeal physically rehabilitated, she has lingering challenges linked to her diagnosis of Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Anxiety.

Her tough road to recovery has not lessened her passion for ministry or compassion for those she serves. "I love you so much. I have missed you so much," Hobbs said on her podcast Monday, June 21, later adding, "Coming back is a blessing. I have been wanting to get back to you and praying about getting back to you on this podcast. And I had to wait for God’s divine timing. And what a blessing to know that this is the set time, the appointed time for my return.”

Hobbs’ health battle forced the immediate cancellation of all appointments and obligations in 2019 and required that she relinquish all administrative roles she had been previously occupying. Her executive team has carried on ministry functions in her absence—something for which the Buffalo, NY-based wife and mother of four expressed immense gratitude, calling her staff “amazing and loyal,” and saying she “can never thank God enough” for them.

During the CEO’s first trip back into the studio, Hobbs also announced a change in the format of her podcast. She said that she and her team have chosen to make the podcast into a “companion to the written devotion of the day that you can read at YourDailyCupOfInspiration.com.”

Hobbs explained, “Instead of being an additional devotion for the day, it will be an audio version of what you can read on the website. So, you get to choose which way you would like to digest the devotion of the day—the written version or the audio version.”

A rep for Hobbs said, “Our team is looking for ways to lessen Dianna’s load while still affording her opportunities to reach and minister to souls which is what she is passionate about doing.”

The rep added, “Her heart is so big, but we know that her capacity in some regards is more limited now than before, and we are doing our best to support the vision and execute it in a practical way that is doable for her.”

On Monday’s broadcast, Hobbs told her listeners, “This change gives you an option and me the opportunity to maximize the time God has so graciously given me to minister to you while conserving my strength.”

She then asked, “Is that alright?”

For those who love and follow her ministry, having the well-loved philanthropist and urban evangelist back in the studio after a long absence is better than alright.

It’s downright inspiring and a welcome return.
