Tamar Braxton finds her way back to faith after suicide attempt, says ‘The wages of sin is death’

Mark 8:36 asks a question: “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?” Reality TV star Tamar Braxton seems to have the right answer now, which is, nothing. You gain absolutely nothing at all.
During an in-studio sit-down with "The Tamron Hall Show,” the 43-year-old discussed her mental health, breakup, family relationships, suicide attempt, and finding her way back to faith.

“I don’t know what the price is for fame, but I do know that the wages of sin is death, and the gift of God is eternal life,” said Braxton, quoting a Bible passage in Romans 6:23. “And I know that if you’re not rooted and guided by the Holy Spirit and by your faith, you will fall into the things that you don’t want to be a part of.”
Amen to that!
The celebrity known for her outsized personality was more emotional but less animated as she discussed battling depression and being “choked” by job demands in a television industry she previously called “toxic.”
Braxton, who says she is in counseling daily, has also broken off her romance with former fiancé David Adefeso but mended her most important relationship, the one she has with God.
Prior to getting back on track, the “Love and War” singer said, “I lost my faith. I lost my sense of what I knew, what was right.”
Admitting her own faults and shortcomings, she told host Tamron Hall, 50, “I didn’t always treat people kind, and I wasn’t always fair, and I didn’t always watch my mouth, and do the right thing. But that is my goal now. The things that I’ve been through, I just felt like God brought me from there to bring me here to be an example, to be better, to do better.”
This time, however, Braxton’s process of being better and doing better will not be documented by cameras for entertainment purposes. The star requested to end her future working relationship with WEtv after police responded to a medical emergency July 16 at the downtown Los Angeles high rise that she calls home, where Braxton attempted suicide.
We are all praying for Braxton’s continued healing and the team at EEW Magazine Online is hoping that others will take heed that joy and happiness cannot be found in money and fame; it is only found in a true relationship with Jesus Christ.
