Sorry To Hear That: Christian actress Niecy Nash announces split from husband of 8 years

Christian actress Niecy Nash and her husband Jay Tucker are splitting up after eight years of marriage, and we’re sorry to hear that.
The high-profile couple made the sad announcement in a joint statement posted on the 49-year-old “Claws” actress’s Instagram account.
“We believe in the beauty of truth. Always have. Our truth is that in this season of our lives, we are better friends than partners in marriage,” the formerly blissful bride and groom wrote Wednesday.

“Our union was such a gorgeous ride. And as we go our separate ways now, we feel fortunate for the love we share — present tense,” said the two that met at a labor day party in 2009.
Expressing appreciation for public supportiveness of their now fractured Union, Nash and Tucker said, “Thank you all out there for your support of us as a couple over the last eight years. We are grateful,” ending the brief statement with, “Niecy Nash + Jay Tucker.”
Nash, a former pastor’s wife got engaged to Tucker, an electrical engineer, in the fall of 2010. Gushing about her “Mr. Wonderful,” she told Essence he “is here because he’s comfortable in his skin, he is warm, so loving and sexy.”
The Emmy-nominated “When They See Us” star once said in an interview, “He’s good to me, he’s good to my children, [and] my family. He’s supportive, he’s loving. I wouldn’t trade in this one."
The smitten pair jumped the broom at an outdoor, afternoon wedding at the Church Estate Vineyard in Malibu in May 2011.
“I have to say, this second time around, it feels custom,” she previously said of their relationship in happier times. “Even after I got my divorce, the ink wasn’t even dry on the paper, and I said, ‘Ooh, the next time I become a wife, I got this thing down pat!’ I always believed that there was someone built for me.”

Nash told People Magazine, it is “never too late” to fall in love.
“There’s a lot of women out there, some of whom are my age who’ve never been married and some who have been married and would like to be married again but think their ship has sailed, and I’m like, ‘Oh no, honey, let Miss Niecy show you it is never too late for love!’ ” she said.
Her split from her first husband Don Nash, the father of the former couple’s three children, was in 2007.
