Busy women need to stick together. That way, we can swap much-needed tips on how to keep our sanity while grinding to fulfill our divine assignments and reach our God-given goals.
Who better than mom-preneur, chef, restaurateur, and philanthropist, Ayesha Curry, to help us get and keep things all the way together?
The 30-year-old wife of NBA superstar Stephen Curry told Business Insider that she uses a physical journal and day-planner to stay organized. "It may sound simple and silly, but it really does make a difference when it comes to embedding exactly what it is you need to get done in your head,” said the cookbook author who is currently working on her second release.
Curry’s method doesn’t sound silly at all! It’s genius, in fact, which is why this strategy has stood the test of time. Curry, who said she also goes high-tech and uses her iPhone sometimes, still transfers all her information into a physical journal or planner.
The wise-beyond-her-years powerhouse, whose wisdom quotes were recently highlighted in EEW Magazine Online, has a lot to juggle, especially being a mom of three adorable kiddos—two daughters Riley and Ryan, and son Canon. But despite all that’s on her plate, she said she makes it a point not to try to do everything at the same time.
"Oftentimes, everybody's trying to do a million things at once," she noted. "I personally feel like, at the end of the day, you find that you've gotten nothing done because you're trying to have your hands in so many different things."
Can the church say amen?
What Curry does is block off her time, setting aside specific hours of the day for particular things. For instance, she designates an hour after her one-year-old son goes down for a nap to check emails. At a different hour, she develops recipes, and spends a separate hour returning phone calls.
She said using time chunks is "one of those things that's so simple, but you often forget to do it.”
It looks like, in her household, simplicity rules the day, and it keeps this Christian woman’s house in order.
Thanks for the advice, Ayesha!
