Gospel singer Briana Babineaux introduces new fiancé after ‘devastating’ split from Bryan Wilson

Just two years ago, viral singing sensation Briana Babineaux and fellow singer Bryan Wilson were madly in love, posing on red carpets and planning to spend forever together. But sadly, their September 2016 engagement ended.

Now, after healing from what she calls a “devastating” split, Babineaux, 23, has moved forward with a new love and fiancé, Keeslon Fontenot, and the two are inviting the public in to share their joy.

The blissful bride-to-be said in a recent social media post that she, for a time, avoided sharing her newfound happiness on social media in order to give her relationship a “stress-free environment to learn, make mistakes, and evolve without feeling weighed down by the need to uphold a false image created by social media.”

Now that her love life is on sure footing once again and she is ready to jump the broom, the “I’ll Be the One” songstress is publicizing the details of her newest love, and so is her hubby-to-be.

“I realized she was the one really early on in our communications,” says Fontenot, a musician, who met the Tyscot recording artist approximately six years ago when he was fresh out of high school. According to his account, their friendship was birthed after the two were included, along with others, in a night of worship.

“Through us communicating and talking, and just having little conversations on the phone, text messages, whatever it was, I just would get butterflies inside, and they wouldn’t leave,” recalls Babineaux of the phase when she developed strong feelings for the man who would eventually sweep her off her feet and heal her shattered heart.

“We just clicked on so many levels,” Fontenot adds. “It was very easy to talk to her.”

As the relationship blossomed, Fontenot felt the time was right to pop the question. So he obtained permission from his ladylove’s father and proposed to Babineaux at her favorite bakery and dessert shop in Lafayette, Louisiana.

As Babineaux looked at the window display, she noticed that, written on a cake was the big question: “Will you marry me, Bri?”

The gesture melted her heart. “It was the best because it was one of the most thoughtful things he could have ever done for me,” she says.

These days, the gifted vocalist whose passionate singing has captured the hearts of millions worldwide, is happier than ever. In her public love note to her fiancé, she said, “Keeslon, you were so worth that risk. To be able to love again and open up again after a breakup is a challenge and I thank you for making it so easy. I can’t wait to spend forever with my best friend.”

Babineaux rose to fame after being depressed over a romantic breakup. Her friends encouraged her to get out to take her mind off of the pain. They recorded her singing Tonex’s “Make Me Over” and uploaded it at about 3:00 A.M. The riveting cover went viral. In 2016, she released her award-winning debut album, Keys To My Heart.

While things may seem to have come full circle in her life, the journey has not been easy for the Hawaii-born, Louisiana-bred artist. Discussing her previous breakup with The Donnie McClurkin Show, she said, “It took a lot of prayer and just being around my family and friends to help me get through that.”

As difficult as it was, she told McClurkin, “I don’t mope or complain about whatever happened. It happened. I don’t wish I could do it all over again. I would do it the exact same way because I feel like everything you go through is for a reason. You may not understand it at that particular time, but at the end, it’s all for a reason.”
