Girls Trip star, Jada Pinkett Smith, one of Hollywood’s best known actresses, is a big fan of one of Gospel’s best known singers, Tasha Cobbs Leonard.
In a recent Instagram post, the wife of actor Will Smith shared a clip of Cobbs Leonard singing a worship song titled “You Know My Name,” and revealing how deeply impactful the song has been.
“This song carries me,” wrote Pinkett Smith in her caption promoting the melody to her nearly 5 million followers. She then added a simple “Thank you,” tagging Cobbs Leonard, who later republished the post on her Instagram page.
“Love you,” replied the Relentless Church worship leader to the multi hyphenate star who enjoys some Christian music though she is not a professing Christian.
Pinkett Smith, who has been mistakenly labeled a Scientologist over the years, recently clarified her views on religion and spirituality on an episode of her popular web series, Red Table Talk.
"I love religion, because I grew up in the ethical society," she explained. "For me, all religions have been my home.”
Cobbs Leonard, whose crossover appeal is undeniable, has been instrumental in carrying the message of Jesus Christ to a broader audience and effectively introducing God’s love to the world through song.
“You Know My Name,” a moving refrain about being intimately known and cared for by God, is featured on the globally celebrated vocalist’s album Heart. Passion. Pursuit: Live at Passion City Church, which debuted atop Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart.
