You know how some things just burrow deep under your skin and leave you rattled? Well, that’s exactly what happened to me recently when a hacker snatched my ministry X (formerly Twitter) account right out from under me.

When it went down, honey, let me tell you—I was livid!

My team and I jumped into action, following all the protocols. We contacted security, filled out the required forms, provided evidence of the breach—the whole nine yards. And you know what happened? Nothing. Support did nothing to help, and I was left without an X account.

I was boiling mad—hotter than fish grease on a skillet. How dare some conniving scammer swoop in and snatch what’s mine!

As we strategized other ways to tackle the situation, God spoke three words to me: “Let it go.”

I thought, That’s it? Just let it go? Move on? What about fighting? What about not letting the enemy win?

I don’t like it when somebody takes something that belongs to me. But then the Lord reminded me I have bigger fish to fry—real ministry happening offline. Recovering a compromised X account isn’t high enough on the priority list to lose sleep over.

So, I held back and let it be. The hacker’s been nabbed, and their X account’s been shut down. But me? I’m still high and dry—no account—after 15 years of pouring myself into that platform.

Anyway, I’m getting off track.

Lately, minor distractions and disturbances have been popping up daily, threatening to disrupt my peace. But I’ve decided not to let the devil steal my focus, my joy, or my tranquility. I’m determined to do the work of the Lord—I’m set on doing the Lord’s work and keeping my eyes fixed on this “Activate Intercessors” prayer service coming up Wednesday, March 26th.

As I fumed over the situation, God spoke two names to me: Sanballat and Tobiah.

For those who might not know, Sanballat and Tobiah were two troublemakers in the Book of Nehemiah (you can read about them in Nehemiah 2-6). Nehemiah was a man on a mission from God, tasked with rebuilding Jerusalem’s broken walls after the Babylonian exile. Sanballat, a Samaritan governor, and Tobiah, an Ammonite official, didn’t like that one bit. They mocked Nehemiah, spread lies, and even plotted to attack him—all to stop the work God had called him to do. But Nehemiah? He didn’t let them derail him. He prayed, stayed vigilant, and kept building, trusting God to handle his enemies.

Those two names hit me hard. Here I was, ready to go to war over an X account, letting this hacker live rent-free in my head, while God was pointing me to a bigger picture. Sanballat and Tobiah weren’t worth Nehemiah’s time, and this hacker wasn’t worth mine.

The enemy loves to dangle these shiny distractions in front of us, doesn’t he? Anything to pull us off course, to sap our energy from what truly matters.

So, I took a deep breath and did what God said: I let it go. Not because it didn’t sting—it still did—but because I’m not about to let some cyber-thief dictate my peace or my purpose. The ministry isn’t on X. It’s in the lives I’m touching, the prayers I’m lifting, the work I’m doing out here in the real world. That account? It’s just a tool, and tools can be replaced. My calling can’t.

The devil might’ve swiped my X handle, but he’s not getting my focus. Not today. Not ever. If Sanballat and Tobiah couldn’t stop Nehemiah from rebuilding those walls, then a hacker’s got no shot at stopping me from building what God’s called me to.

After God got me together, He said, “Now remind somebody else who’s facing distractions and frustrating circumstances not to lose their focus either.” No matter how serious or trivial the situation may be, your destiny is too important to be sidetracked.

Whatever’s been bugging you, sidelining you, controlling your emotions, or pulling your focus away from what matters—God told me to share the same three words with you: “Let it go.”

Picture this: You’re holding a balloon, its string tied to a heavy weight, like the distractions and frustrations the enemy uses to anchor you down. You’ve been gripping that string, letting the weight pull at your peace, your focus, your destiny. But God’s handing you a pair of scissors and saying, “Cut it loose.” When you do, the ribbon snaps, the weight drops, and the balloon soars upward—free, light, and out of your hands. That’s what letting go looks like: a deliberate act of release, trusting God to lift you above what’s been holding you back.

He’s got so much more in store for you. And while some things are worth fighting for, some things aren’t—it takes divine discernment to know the difference.

So, friend, what do you need to let go? What offense do you need to forgive? What distraction do you need to ignore? What foolishness do you need to overlook? God sent me to tell you to get your focus back on what matters.

God has instructed me to prophesy this over you: The devil has been trying to wear you out lately. He’s working feverishly, desperately attempting to pull you off course because you’re headed toward a major breakthrough from which God will receive the glory. Just as today marks the first day of spring, your season is shifting. The Lord is doing a new thing in your life.

Receive that word by faith. You see, your time is now, and that’s why Satan is working overtime to derail your destiny. Don’t let him succeed. Keep your heart and mind focused on the things of God. As Colossians 3:2 declares, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”

Think about the work of the Lord you’ve been anointed to do—the blessings He has in store, your bright future, the favor that surrounds you, the doors He’s about to open, the new connections He’s preparing for you, and the breakthrough you’re on the verge of stepping into. Dwell on those things.

To help you do this, I’m stirring Philippians 4:8 KJV into your cup of inspiration, which says:

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

As you drink down the contents of your cup, God is saying, if you keep your mind focused on the right things, the wrong things—and people—won’t be able to distract you from what matters.

Your destiny is too important to waste on Sanballat, Tobiah, or anything else that comes to hack into your peace. Let it go, so you can go forth in power, Kingdom authority, and flow in your destiny.

Now, let’s pray.

God, thank You for reminding me how cunning the enemy can be, using every possible tool of distraction, discouragement, and disillusionment to hinder me from walking in purpose and focusing on what truly matters. Please help me not to fall into the enemy’s traps, but instead to look forward with expectation to the good things You have prepared for me. As I keep my mind fixed on You, trust in You, obey You, and fulfill Your will, I praise You for all the ways You will display Your goodness, favor, and power in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
