Dianna Hobbs, a prominent women's ministry leader known globally for her daily inspirations, Bible teachings, and extensive nonprofit work through Empowering Everyday Women Ministries, has condemned the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Hobbs, 47, known for avoiding political discourse and divisive rhetoric online, shared her thoughts on the incident in a new blog post, a rare departure from her typical content.

In her post, “Healing the Divide: My Response to the Trump Assassination Attempt,” published on her widely read blog, YourDailyCupofInspiration.com, the Buffalo, NY-based leader expressed shock and heartbreak upon learning of the attempt on Trump's life.

"I was stunned, disgusted, and heartbroken for America," wrote the EEW Magazine Online President. Hobbs described watching videos and reading articles about the incident, repeatedly whispering, "This can't be happening."

Hobbs noted the varied reactions to the news, highlighting responses that ranged from horror to celebration. Some individuals she described as "driven by deep-seated political animosity" expressed skepticism or even joy at the attempt, which she condemned. "Such responses disregard the families of the deceased and critically injured, and the reality of Trump's own narrow escape from a fatal head wound," Hobbs asserted.

Particularly alarming to Hobbs was the reaction from within the faith-based community. "What struck me most was the reaction—or lack thereof—from fellow Christians," she wrote. "Many prominent Christian leaders responded with neither sympathy nor a call to prayer. This absence of compassion and concern within the Body of Christ is alarming."

Hobbs urged Christians to rise above political affiliations and embrace the core principles of their faith. "Our faith should transcend politics. We are called to love our neighbors, to show compassion, and to seek justice—not just for those we agree with, but for all humanity," she stated. For Hobbs, the assassination attempt was not merely a political event but "a stark reminder of a collective loss of humanity, civility, unity, and decency."

Highlighting the dangers of vitriolic language in politics and its contribution to a culture of violence and hatred, the preacher’s daughter and Christian missionary wrote, "Politicians—Democrats and Republicans—have become demagogues, and their rhetoric often dehumanizes opponents, making them seem dispensable.” She added, "As Christians, we must be careful not to fall into this trap."

Hobbs called for Christians to exercise love and compassion while respecting diversity. "America is not a spiritual or cultural monolith. Diverse perspectives exist, and everyone has a right to their opinion and voice. However, as Christians, our voices must be regulated by God's Spirit and love," she urged.

Referencing Romans 13:1, Hobbs reminded her readers that all authority, even in government, comes from God. "Whether we are pro-Trump or pro-Biden, God is still in control," she wrote. Hobbs further emphasized that Christians should advocate for justice and righteousness but ultimately recognize that God governs the affairs of the world.

In her concluding remarks, she once again called for prayer, unity, and a renewed commitment to compassion. "We must speak truth in love, promote peace, and strive for unity," she stated. Hobbs described the political climate as "fraught with division" but insisted that faith calls for a higher standard of compassion.

Hobbs ended her post with a prayer, asking God for guidance and wisdom to rise above political divisions. "May we be instruments of Your peace, promoting unity and understanding in a fractured world. Strengthen our resolve to follow Your teachings and to trust in Your sovereign control over all things," she wrote.

Hobbs' reflections on the Trump assassination attempt underscore her call for a return to Christian virtues amidst a deeply divided political landscape. Her message of unity, compassion, and trust in divine sovereignty resonates as a plea for healing and understanding in turbulent times.
