An impromptu duet in the aisle of a Walmart Supercenter went viral, and now the pair that sang their way into the hearts of America is back at it again.

Cassandra Turner Nelson and Donnell Cross didn’t know each other at all before their singing moment, which was captured in the Alpharetta, Georgia store, made its rounds on the Internet.

Here’s how the story goes. Turner Nelson was walking in the aisles humming when another shopper, Cross, took notice of her melodious voice.

“She calls it humming. I call it singing,” said Cross during an appearance with Turner Nelson on ABC’s daytime talk show, Strahan, Sarah and Keke. “She was singing real low but I heard her just getting it in, so I told my friend Craig, I said, ‘Man look. I’m going to go over here and mess with this lady.’”

Well, what may have started out as a joke for him, took a surprising turn, becoming a magical moment of vocal chemistry that attracted a crowd of spectators. The two sang “If This World Were Mine” by Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn.

It was uploaded on the Internet, and the rest is history.

“I’ve been singing all my life,” Turner Nelson told co-hosts Michael Strahan, Keke Palmer, and Sara Haines. “I was singing in the church with my father, Reverend Norris Turner”—starting as young as 22 months.

Cross said his musical background was different. “She sang in the church. I sang in the streets. I was in the subway singing,” he said.

No matter where they started, the pair is now together in the national spotlight.

Watch their appearance, and hear them joyfully sing.
