A global network of supporters is praying for the speedy recovery of gospel singer, Tamela Mann, who recently underwent double knee replacement surgery.

“Surgery was a success!” said the 53-year-old songstress on social media. “Thank everyone for your prayers.”

The GRAMMY® Award-winner first broke the news of the surgical procedure via online video Wednesday, July 17, shot in the lobby of the hospital. “I’m letting you guys in to follow me, pray with me and be with me through this every step of the way,” she said.

The WW ambassador, who recently celebrated a milestone of losing 20 pounds, admitted she was “nervous,” “real emotional” and “crying a little bit.” Still, despite her emotionalism, Mann seemed optimistic about the outcome with the help of the Lord, her family and supportive intercessors.

The “Take Me to the King” singer’s massive social media following is able to follow her journey through short video clips, like the latest one that shows her arriving home.

Assisted by a walker, she steps at a gingerly pace and laughs with her family, seemingly in great spirits despite the pain. One follower, as many others have, posted a heartfelt prayer beneath the video, asking God to grant Mann a speedy recovery and protection, and requesting that she “will be well without any issues.”

In 2014, gospel recording artist, Fred Hammond, also underwent knee replacement surgery. He, too, documented the healing process on social media.
