At a time when many in the music industry blur the lines between the sacred and the secular, Christian rapper Kanye West is making a clear distinction.

According to numerous reports, the hit-making 42-year-old, who is slated to release his first gospel album titled Jesus Is King, has announced that, going forward, he will no longer make “secular” music—only gospel.

Kanye West worships at New Birth and praises God for “working miracles” in his life and “saving him.” (Sunday, September, 15, 2019)

Andrew Barber of Fake Shore Drive® broke the news on social media to the shock of many who are aware of the huge fortune West has amassed making hits that worship money, fame, sex, and women.

EEW Magazine Online editors reached out to reps for West, but no one was immediately available for comment.

Barber said he listened to the entire Jesus Is King album and shared the official poster for the musician’s IMAX film titled Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Film.

Though West has yet to personally issue a public statement confirming the change in his career trajectory, such a shift does fall in line with the “Sunday Service” ministry founder’s recent confession of faith in Christ.

As previously reported by EEW Magazine Online, West brought Sunday Service to the New Birth Atlanta mega church where there were reportedly more than 100 new commitments to Christ according to the ministry leader, Pastor Jamal Bryant.

During West’s New Birth visit, he said, “You know the devil presents so many flashy, shiny objects. I’ve seen everything that the devil could’ve showed you via TV, videos, car dealerships, jewelry, houses, and I’ll tell you—he broke out singing—“nothing beats God.”

West has been a mainstream Hip Hop staple since his big break came in 2004 with his debut album, The College Dropout.

But now he says all that is behind him, and his life is totally submitted to the authority of Jesus Christ, the only way to real salvation, music and all.
