Women’s ministry leader Dianna Hobbs has had a tough 2019, but her staff is rejoicing that the worst is over.

In a touching birthday tribute to the award-winning founder of EEW Magazine, a ministry representative gave thanks to God for “sparing Dianna,” who turned 43 Saturday, Nov. 2.

“43 years ago, on this day, a Kingdom warrior was born. She is beautiful inside and out, generous, warm, kind, understanding, and giving,” read the heartfelt message on the ministry’s Instagram page.

Hobbs, who was fighting for her life in August after a medical emergency resulted in a mini stroke, more than 20 seizures, and a harrowing stint in the ICU at a Buffalo hospital, has made a miraculous recovery. Now, those closest to the faith-based media specialist are praising God and showering her with love.

“What you see with Dianna is really what you get, and she has a smile that lights up a room. Whether on a platform, a microphone, or behind the scenes, she is the same. Above all, she is a faithful servant of the Lord,” continued the message.

In a Friday, Nov. 1 podcast, Hobbs, a wife of 21 years and mother of four, said she would spend her birthday thanking God for the gift of life. In a new blog post, she told her readers, “God dropped Psalm 31:14 in my spirit, and He reminded me that I didn’t die because my times are in the hands of the Lord. Nothing can happen unless He permits it—something we all would do well to remember in our storms.”

Thankfully for her, the storm has come to an end, and the celebrating has commenced.

“We thank God for sparing Dianna. It looked like we had surely lost her in August when she was in ICU fighting for her life. But she has come back to us with even greater faith, and she inspires our team to believe bigger,” said the message.

Members of City Church Buffalo, where Hobbs is first lady, hosted a special event in her honor. In a social media post a rep said she is “loved around the world, and we are happy God saw fit to gift her to a local body of believers here in Buffalo, NY. Her humility and passion for serving the community and congregation is so pure.”

While others are giving tributes and gifts, the well-known philanthropist is busy giving to others. Her 501c3 nonprofit organization launched its “Feed 5,000” Thanksgiving Food Drive, which is using donations to help fight hunger this holiday season.

Though Hobbs has triumphantly returned to her blog and podcast, she remains on hiatus from public speaking engagements until 2020. She said, “I still need more time” before returning to ministry full time.

Happy Birthday, Dianna.
