Two popular Christian recording artists are on our prayer list as they grieve the unexpected, untimely deaths of their children this week.

Micah Stampley’s 15-year-old daughter Mary Stampley, and TobyMac’s 21-year-old son Truett Foster McKeehan, have both passed away, and the families are asking for prayers and respect for privacy at this time.

Mary Stampley, according to Atlanta Journal of Constitution, died after suffering a seizure. At the time of writing, the cause of Truett’s sudden death at his Nashville, Tennessee home has not been released.

"It is with a heavy heart that the Stampley family would like to announce the passing of their 15 year old daughter, Mary Stampley. Please keep their family in your prayers and respect their privacy as they deal with this traumatic event," read a statement obtained by EEW Magazine Online from the singer's publicist on Tuesday, Oct. 22

“Truett did pass away at home in the Nashville area sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday morning,” a representative for TobyMac confirmed in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. “Cause of death has not been determined.”

The Davidson County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed he died Wednesday after medics responded to a cardiac arrest call at the family’s home.

“Toby was traveling back from Canada and did not get home to be with his family until after midnight last night so there is no statement,” representatives told The Tennessean. “We just ask that everyone please be respectful of their privacy during this time and allow them to grieve their loss.”

Stampley, 48, is a multiple Dove and Stellar Award nominee, whose most recent album, To The King: Vertical Worship, was released in 2016 and debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart.

Billboard reports that last year, Grammy and Dove Award-winner TobyMac, 55, released a song called "Scars" detailing his relationship with his son, after Truett moved out of their family home.
