Empowering Everyday Women (EEW), a Buffalo-based global humanitarian organization, has launched the Help for New Orleans Relief Fund to bring critical aid and support to victims and families devastated by the horrific New Year's Day attack in New Orleans' French Quarter. The tragedy claimed 14 lives and injured 35 others, leaving an indelible mark on the community and the nation.

One hundred percent of donations will directly support victims and their families, with funds being distributed through vetted service providers and community organizations working on the ground in New Orleans.

Dianna Hobbs, president and CEO of EEW, emphasized the organization’s swift response to the tragedy, stating:

"This devastating attack has shaken our entire nation. From our base in Buffalo, we're mobilizing our global network of resources and partners to provide immediate assistance to those affected. When communities suffer, we answer the call to serve – whether it's across the country or around the world."

The attack unfolded around 3:15 a.m. CST on January 1, when a pickup truck drove into crowds celebrating the New Year at the intersection of Bourbon and Canal streets. The FBI has since classified the incident as an act of terrorism.

EEW’s response to this tragedy aligns with its longstanding mission to deliver aid and hope during crises, both domestically and internationally. The organization operates worldwide, delivering critical support and resources to communities facing crisis, poverty, and natural disasters.
