Oscar-winning actor and entertainer, Jamie Foxx—real name Eric Marlon Bishop—has received an outpouring of love, prayers, and concern from family, friends, and fans, since news broke of his hospitalization last month.

The 55-year-old host of Fox TV’s interactive game show, “Beat Shazam,” who has been seriously ill for three weeks, is making headlines once again after his friend, Charles “Charlie Mack” Alston, publicly tributed him and pleaded on his behalf for prayer on social media.

“I need you all to constantly keep our beloved brother, Jamie Foxx—whom we all love and care for dearly—in our hearts, minds, and prayers,” wrote the seasoned entertainment and music industry insider with close ties to Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Corinne Foxx, daughter of the beloved comedian and singer, first requested prayer on her father’s behalf on April 12 stating that he suffered from “a medical complication” but was “already on his way to recovery.”

Since that time, no intricate details have been disclosed by the family regarding Foxx’s ongoing battle. Mack, who did not give updates on his ailing friend’s condition either, wrote, “We need you back, bro. As I always state, a true champion isn’t the one that wins, it’s the one that meets and overcomes adversity. Your test becomes your testimony. We can’t wait to receive you back home to celebrate, laugh with and applaud you.”

While asking supporters to intercede for Foxx, Mack penned a prayer of his own, writing, “I come before you once again humbly asking, please heal and restore our brother stronger and better than before. I have absolutely no shame in asking, pleading, and begging for your merciful healing powers over our brother now—in your time, not ours, for a miracle. I must and will thank you in advance.”

Foxx was photographed in Atlanta on the set of his upcoming movie, “Back in Action,” looking healthy and happy just one day before his medical emergency. Though earlier reports indicated that Foxx was alert and communicating, not much is known about his current state.

We all truly hope to see him back in action soon.
