Fornication may very well be a sin, but babies are always a blessing. And it’s safe to say that Nick Cannon is abundantly blessed in the baby-making department.

The 41-year-old entertainment mogul announced on his daytime talker Monday that he and model Bre Tiesi are expecting a baby boy together—his eighth child and fifth baby in less than two years.

In a candid conversation with Entertainment Tonight in September 2021 Cannon said his therapist thought he needed to practice celibacy for a while.

So, what was his response?

"I come from a big family. I have several siblings. Being raised in an unorthodox family by my grandparents, at times, I've experienced such a wide range of upbringing that I have such a love and passion for kids and family. I want a big family too," he explained. "The Lord has blessed me with what I asked… ask and you shall receive.”

Well, that’s one way of looking at it.

During the special announcement on The Nick Cannon Show, he said, "As everyone knows, I have a lot of children, and I love them all dearly, sincerely. Every single one of my children are just as special as the other."

Tiesi, who recently divorced former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel, was photographed with Cannon at a baby shower over the weekend. In photos published by TMZ, the two are seen embracing as Cannon cradles Tiesi’s baby bump.

The happy news comes on the heels of tragedy for Cannon. In December, he mourned the loss of his youngest child, son Zen, who passed away at five months old after a battle with brain cancer.

On Monday, Cannon explained that he knew Tiesi was pregnant before Zen’s death but waited to reveal the news.

After the public got wind of the baby announcement, plenty celebrated the fertile father, but not everyone agrees with what he’s doing.

According to Cannon, he has received lots of criticism for fathering so many children by different women. And although the comedian, actor, rapper, and television presenter seems to take the controversy in stride, he said he is not "impervious to hearing and reading what people say" about him—like calling him "careless," "irresponsible," and "selfish."

"It definitely affects me because I'm a human being," Cannon said.

Just last year, the father of seven children with four mothers, including 10-year-old twins shared with ex-wife, superstar singer, Mariah Carey, made headlines after welcoming four children within the brief span of 14 months.

When it comes to being fruitful and multiplying, the command of Genesis 1:28, at least that’s one part of the Bible Cannon has down pat.
