It was an amazing 33rd birthday for GRAMMY® and Stellar Award-winning gospel singer Kierra Sheard who celebrated another year of life and got engaged to her “dream” man on Saturday June 20, 2020.
“I can’t believe it!!!! You’re everything I’ve always wanted,” said Sheard on social media, captioning a photo of herself beside her fiancé, Jordan Kelly, flashing a beautiful diamond sparkler in honor of her engagement.
The Detroit-based actress — who recently starred in the hit film The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel on Lifetime and released a No. 1 self-titled album — has already had a tremendous year. Now, she is looking forward to starting an exciting new chapter.
Celebrities like Kirk and Tammy Franklin, John P. Kee, David and Tamela Mann, Missy Elliott, Adrienne Bailon, and Loni Love flooded the star’s social media with congratulatory messages, sharing in her joy.
“I can’t wait to do life with you! Thank you for choosing me! You’re an answer to my prayers. The man in my dream is now my reality,” Sheard posted, gushing over finding true happiness and ending a toxic cycle of bad relationships and heartbreak.
In a previous interview, Sheard admitted, “As a Christian single woman dating, I've been hurt and not wise on my dating journey.”
She also previously confessed to being attracted to “hood dudes” with “an edge” that were the wrong fit for her. But now, that’s all in the past, and the eleven60 fashion designer is letting the world know that her future husband is God-sent and nothing short of amazing.
Addressing Kelly directly in her online post, Sheard wrote, “God has His way of doing things, and through you, He’s shown me that if I trust Him, all will be well, and OH MY GOD — ALL IS WELL!”
Quoting Dr. Seuss, Sheard wrote, “You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams,” and added, “I get it now. Every day I look forward to you! I love you.”
Last month, Sheard uploaded a YouTube video featuring Kelly but kept an emoji over his face because she said he was unable to get a haircut due to the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily shuddering barbers shops, “and he wanted to look right.”
But in her online engagement announcement, she proudly put the love of her life on display and posted the photograph of the moment he dropped down on one knee in the front yard and popped the question.
Obviously, she said yes!
At the time of writing, a wedding date has not yet been revealed.
