“I'm trying to teach them self-care is important at an early age. That wasn't something I was taught, so I had to learn it on the fly,” said the 30-year-old cook book author, chef, and restaurateur in an interview with ELLE.com.

“People forget to take care of themselves, and the world moves so fast these days. It's important for me to teach them that it's okay to have a minute to themselves,” continued the CoverGirl spokeswoman.

Women nowadays, more than ever, are earning advanced degrees, climbing the corporate ladder, and running thriving businesses. This increased responsibility often leads to higher stress levels. And if stress isn’t managed, it negatively impacts the health of a woman—mind, body, and soul.

Curry, wife of Golden State Warriors championship-winning point guard Stephen Curry, knows all about high levels of stress and what it’s like to put yourself on the backburner. Getting candid with ELLE, she said, “I was in a space where I had three kids in six years, and I forgot about myself.”

But these days, this empowered wife, mom, businesswoman, and follower of Christ is on the right track with self-care and is doing all she can to ensure that her girls put themselves first in the future too.

“I'm finally getting back to a space now where I'm remembering, it's okay to take a minute,” she said, adding, “I just want to make sure they know that from a young age that it's not selfish to want to better yourself, to take care of yourself, or to make yourself feel good.”
