Disgusting! Trump refuses to apologize to ‘Central Park Five’— says 'They admitted their guilt'

President Donald J. Trump cannot stand to admit when he is wrong. He proved that again on Tuesday by refusing to apologize to the “Central Park Five” for saying they should be executed for rape and assault charges, even though they have since been exonerated.
“They admitted their guilt,” Trump arrogantly and disgustingly told reporters while leaving the White House to go to a campaign rally in Florida.
If you recall, in 1989, Trump had the audacity to take out a full-page ad in New York newspapers advocating for the death penalty for five young black boys, ages 14 to 16. These five teens were charged with the rape and beating of a female investment banker jogging in Central Park. The attack became a national symbol of urban mayhem at a time when New York City’s murder rate was nearing its historical peak.

The teens said they were coerced into confessing their involvement in the attack. Their convictions were overturned in 2002 after convicted murderer and serial rapist Matias Reyes confessed to committing the crime alone, and DNA linked him to it.
Trump is now being hammered with questions about his former position after Ava Duvernay’s wildly successful Netflix documentary “When They See Us,” has rekindled public interest in the case. African-American journalist, April Ryan, posed the question that elicited Trump’s angering response.
Raymond Santana, Kevin Richardson, Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam and Korey Wise received a $41 million settlement in 2014, about which Trump said he thinks “the city should have never settled that case.”
Ironically, Trump loves to court Christian voters and say he is pro-black, but he does not exhibit Christ-like characteristics, nor does he display true concern for African-American people.
