Say what? Ayesha Curry confesses she desires attention from men outside her marriage

When it comes to faith, family, finances and fame, 30-year-old celebrity chef and restaurateur, Ayesha Curry, has all those boxes checked.
Yet, the Christian wife of NBA player Stephen Curry, has publicly expressed dissatisfaction over not receiving enough male attention from men that are not her husband—something she confessed during a recent episode of the popular web series, Red Table Talk.
“Something that really bothers me and like honestly has given me a sense of a little bit of insecurity is the fact that, yeah, like, there all these women like throwing themselves [at my husband]. But me, I don’t have any of that. Like, I have zero—it sounds weird—but, like, male attention,” explained Ayesha.
“And so then I like begin to internalize it, and I’m like, is something wrong with me?” she added.
Stephen and Ayesha have been married for seven years; neither of them has ever gone on record to discuss craving desirability from anyone outside their happy union—until now. Such a deep level of transparency shocked many and began trending online Tuesday, May 7, a few days after the interview conducted by host Jada Pinkett Smith, aired on Facebook.
During the chat, Ayesha made it clear that, when it comes to turning men’s heads and getting their attention, “I don’t want it, but it would be nice to know that, like, someone’s looking.”
Viewers’ reactions were mixed, with some expressing sympathy and understanding, and others disagreeing strongly with her position.
After an outcry online, one Twitter sympathizer said, “Ayesha Curry expressed a vulnerable, human emotion and y’all are tearing her down? When you are given value based solely on your looks (which a lot of women are), it’s hard to turn off seeking that validation. Same goes for men too. It’s natural to want to feel wanted.”
Another pointed out, “Ayesha messed up when she constantly said women were thirsty for attention based on how they dressed. Then begged for attention that she felt she wasn't getting. Her insecurities are very common. But she's getting lit up for prior words and actions.”
The Canadian-born entrepreneur known for her modesty, previously offended some women by saying she doesn’t believe in showing too much skin, because some thing are reserved only for her husband.
No matter how she feels, scantly clad flirtatious women, according to Ayesha, are constantly pursuing her man, and it’s quite upsetting.
“Obviously you know, like, the devil is a liar and there’s always—the ladies will always be lurking, hoping for their moment and waiting. You need to be aware of that,” she said. “But for me, I honestly hate it. I don’t like when I feel leveled off with someone. It just irks my nerves.”
Despite this annoyance, she seems to have managed to build a strong marriage with Stephen that has produced three sweet children: daughter Riley, 6; daughter Ryan, 3; and son Canon W. Jack Curry, 10 months.
