The old saying goes, never judge a book by its cover—a lesson talk show host, Wendy Williams, is reminding everyone of today.

The 54-year-old host of “The Wendy Williams Show,” who says her glamorous appearance kept everyone fooled, tearfully revealed that she is currently living in a “sober house” for those struggling with issues tied to addiction.

“You know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past, and I never went to a place to get the treatment. I don’t know how, except God was sitting on my shoulder and I just stopped,” she said, fighting back emotion.

Williams, who says she has a 24-hour sober coach, did not directly say she was being treated for cocaine addiction.

According to Williams, who is known for discussing the latest news and pop culture hot topics, the only other people who knew about where she was living up until her announcement Tuesday were her husband and son.

Williams says she works out after her show and then is driven by her “24-hour sober coach” to a home where she lives “with a bunch of smelly boys who have become my family.”

“Nobody knew ‘cause I look so glamorous out here,” she said. However, there is nothing glamorous about her living conditions. “Doors locked by 10 p.m., lights out by 10 p.m. So I go to my room and I stare at my ceiling and I fall asleep to wake up to come back here to see you,” she said.

Williams returned to her talk show earlier this month for the first time since December, saying she was off because of continued thyroid issues associated with Graves’ disease.
