In a Sunday, Nov. 10 tweet, Monique Samuels of “Real Housewives of Potomac,” who has been charged with second-degree assault connected to an altercation with Candiace Dillard, shared her favorite verse and asked fans to, “Drop me your favorite Bible Scripture.”

According to the 36-year-old wife of former NFL player Chris Samuels and mother of three, who said she “missed church today,” Proverbs 26:27 is her go-to Scripture.

It says, “Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them”—a passage which, coincidentally or not so coincidentally, could be seen as a veiled jab at 32-year-old Dillard who pressed charges.

Sources say Bravo was shooting the franchise’s fifth season when Samuels grabbed the former Miss United States by her hair and pulled her down while at a dinner party with fellow RHOP castmembers.

People first reported that, according to court records, Dillard filed a complaint against Samuels with the court’s commissioner on Thursday, Nov. 7, stemming from the alleged incident that first took place on Oct. 16.

The commissioner found probable cause in Dillard’s complaint, issuing a summons for Samuels to appear in court on Dec. 23. If a judge agrees that there is probable cause, Samuels could be arrested on the spot and potentially face jail time.

While neither Samuels nor Dilliard has publicly spoken about the situation, legal representatives for both parties have issued statements.

Dillard’s personal attorney James L. Walker, Jr. said, “At this time, we do not want to say too much and just allow the criminal process to play out. We only ask everyone to pray for our client Candiace and her family.”

He said the physical assault has led to “humiliation and emotional distress” for his client, CEO of Candiace Dillard Pageant Consulting and co-founder of Prima Hair Collection, and has been “painful and difficult.”

Samuels’ attorney, A. Scott Bolden, said his client “did nothing but defend herself” and calls Dillard’s claims “completely one-sided, inaccurate and unwarranted.” He also accused the alleged victim of being “aggressive, belligerent and threatening,” adding, “My client has every right to file for a counter criminal summons, as well, and will consider doing so, while fully defending herself in this action that has been filed with the Court. Either way, I am confident that she will prevail on this matter.”

Samuels is president and founder of the I’m B.O.S.S. Foundation, a youth mentorship and leadership organization, as well as Not for Lazy Moms website and podcast, a support network for mothers.

Samuels and Dillard have had an up-and-down relationship and were at odds in season 4 but seemed to resolve their issues during the reunion episode in September. In light of this most recent development, it appears that their fragile truce has been broken.

Now that Samuels is facing charges, if she is in any way worried about the potential to be locked up, she is not showing it online. The reality star has been sharing smiling, happy family photos and videos on Instagram and engaging with fans.

When a concerned follower asked Samuels in response to the Bible verse tweet, “Are you ok?” Samuels replied, “Yes babe, thank you for asking,” with a kissy-face emoji.
