Becoming author Michelle Obama is coming out with a brand new project to enrich the lives of her readers, and we are so ready to be blessed again.
Becoming: A Guided Journal for Discovering Your Voice hits shelves Nov. 19 and is a companion to her multimillion-selling book, released last November—and we’re still talking about that one.
The guided journal features an introduction by the 55-year-old former First Lady, as well as more than 150 quotations and questions related to her memoir.
According to a statement from the publisher, Clarkson Potter, an imprint of Penguin Random House, Becoming: A Guided Journal for Discovering Your Voice is designed to help others tell their own stories by focusing on their personal and family history, goals, challenges, dreams, what moves them and brings them hope, and what future they imagine for themselves and their community.
In the introduction, the Christian leader writes that she hopes the journal will encourage people to write down their “experiences, thoughts, and feelings, in all their imperfections, and without judgment.”
Becoming, the book that sparked the idea for a guided journal, gives readers a look into Mrs. Obama’s marriage to former President Barack Obama, her life in the White House, and her motherhood role in the lives of daughters Malia and Sasha.
“You’ve got to be able to go over the moments in your life that brought you to a moment of joy and happiness or broke you down and be able to understand how has that made you who you are today and what are you going to do to recalibrate,” said the Ivy League graduate at Spelman last year.
If you’re ready to reflect on your life, look back on the good times and bad, and see how God has been shaping you for your destiny, Mrs. Obama’s guided journal will definitely be a great addition to your bookshelf.
