Last month, Redemption Church in Greenville, South Carolina became Relentless Church when John and Aventer Gray took over for Ron and Hope Carpenter.

Sunday night, as the Grays were formally installed as pastors in an elaborate ceremony, before rendering a stirring selection, GRAMMY® Award-winning gospel singer, Tamela Mann, expressed how “proud” she felt of the couple.

“I love y’all. I’m so proud of y’all I don’t know what to do as a big sister,” said the 51-year-old singer adorned in a head-to-toe black ensemble. She then proceeded to deliver a vocally stellar and anointed version of her chart-topping single, “Change Me.”

Gray, who is still an associate pastor at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, listened to kind and emotional words from the senior pastor, Joel Osteen, who broke down in tears.

"John and Aventer are faithful people. They are loyal people,” he said, struggling to regain his composure.

"I cry way too easy," Osteen added, poking fun at himself. The Grays have been faithfully serving the mega ministry for the past five years where more than 50,000 people attend weekly services.

More than 3,000 people packed the church audience. Among the attendees were media mogul Tyler Perry, R&B singer Fantasia Barrino, Gospel singers Kirk Franklin, Travis Green and more.
