Do you take communion with your family at home? Pastor John Gray says you should

Who said communion— an intimate, sacred, and symbolic meal, signifying our oneness with Jesus Christ— could only be taken on Sunday morning at church?
In a new Instagram post, Pastor John Gray, star of OWN’s “The Book of John Gray,” told his nearly 500,000 followers to do what he does at home, and “have family communion as often as you can.”
After posting an image of a red cup with a tiny bit of grape juice in it, the associate pastor of Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, explained, “Tonight, I sensed an attack on my family. So I gathered them together at 1:00 am, and read Matthew 26, and the words of Jesus Christ as He instituted The Lord’s Supper.”
In Matthew 26:26-27 NIV, Scripture shows us how Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, gave it to His disciples, and told them, “Take and eat; this is my body.” He also took a cup, gave thanks, gave it to them and said, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

Gray, who will assume the role of senior pastor at Redemption Church in Greenville, South Carolina come May 1st—which will be renamed Relentless—continued, “I got some crackers and grape juice and I gave my family Communion. I declared the word of healing over my wife and kids. And I expect God to hear my prayers, and heal my kids, and my wife and I, from these lightweight demonic attacks.”
After admonishing others to follow suit by taking family communion, Gray declared, “The blood [of Jesus] still has all power!” according to Matthew 26:26-30.
As a leader in the spotlight, forcefully opposing Satan’s kingdom, staying prayed up, and remaining in unbroken fellowship with God, is a must.
Gray, who often speaks about being under spiritual attack, has lots of things on his plate from a practical standpoint, too. But he seems to be taking it all in stride.
Earlier this month, the charismatic preacher and author of I Am Number 8 announced that GRAMMY® Award-winning worship leader, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, will move to Greenville to lead worship at Relentless once he becomes pastor. She will be joining forces with Todd Galberth, the current worship pastor.
Gray is taking the reins from Apostle Ron Carpenter who voluntarily stepped down from Redemption to pastor Jubilee Christian Center, a mega church in San Jose, California.
