In turbulent times like these, gatherings of worshipers exalting Christ, the Prince of Peace, is needed like never before.
Come Friday, December 7, 2018, the iconic Tafawa Balewa Square TBS, Onikan in Lagos, Nigeria will host The Experience 13, an annual musical gathering of young and old of various races and nationalities. This year’s theme is Jesus, Our Peace.
The 13th edition organized by the House on the Rock HOTR will welcome Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Travis Greene, JJ Hairston and many more.
Dubbed as the most anticipated gospel music event in Africa, it averages a yearly attendance of in excess of 500,000 people on location, with millions more streaming online globally. It’s not surprising that it has garnered a reputation for being the biggest gospel concert in the whole world.
In a statement obtained by EEW Magazine, the organizers explained that the theme, Jesus, Our Peace, “is to express the true nature of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Pastor Paul Adefarasin, who is credited with inspiring the 2018 theme, said he desires to “highlight who Jesus is, especially in the world we live in today – the Prince of Peace.”
Adefarasin added that regardless of the outcome of elections, “peace is the ultimate candidate that we should all support, and must be the candidate that wins. Peace, as I know it, is not the absence of tension but the presence of justice.”
He assures attendees from around the globe that the festivities “will be a continuous reminder that the God of Peace is with us.”
