In honor of the International Day of Charity, which falls on September 5th annually, Empowering Everyday Women Ministries, Inc., in collaboration with its partners and affiliates, successfully launched its global effort to donate books and supplies to children and families that cannot afford school books or other educational resources.

Since 2012, the International Day of Charity, established by the UN General Assembly, inspires those who are longing to do good to join a global movement to support charitable causes and help the under-served.

“We are so pleased to be a blessing to school-age children, primarily in grades K-3—both in the U.S. and abroad—that deserve to take full advantage of educational opportunities, but we still need your help,” said a spokesperson for Empowering Everyday Women, a 501c3 faith-based nonprofit organization.

Empowering Everyday Women founded the Literacy Links™ Program in January 2019 to increase literacy rates in urban communities by helping youth read and write at higher levels. When you give, you help us do more good work.

“Our founder, Dianna Hobbs, and our ministry team know how important education is to children’s futures. Together, with the help of our generous supporters and partners, we are lowering poverty rates and empowering kids to flourish and become productive members of society. Our children need us,” added the spokesperson.

The International Day of Charity, which falls on the anniversary of the death of Mother Teresa—a woman who dedicated her whole life to defeating poverty and alleviating the suffering of the poorest in the world—gives you a chance to be a blessing to Empowering Everyday Women and other charities of your choosing.

This year’s scriptural theme for Empowering Everyday Women’s International Day of Charity is Proverbs 19:17: “Anyone who is kind to poor people lends to the Lord. God will reward him for what he has done.”

The United Nations invites each of its member states, organizations, businesses and citizens like you to celebrate this special day of generosity by contributing to charity efforts in any way you can.

No matter how little or how much you can afford to spare financially, do what you can to make a difference today. This year, Empowering Everyday Women has already sponsored multiple reading circles, book giveaways, free events and charitable initiatives to strengthen both parents and children, and build up communities weakened by poverty and lack of resources.
