My mother, a Brooklyn, NY native, used to say, “Don’t just stand there and let the schoolyard bully beat you up. Girl, fight back!”

Satan, who behaves a lot like a persistent school bully, loves to target you to wound your faith. Look no further than the life of Job to see how Satan revels in attacking God’s greatest warriors hoping they will surrender in defeat.

Don’t let that bully win. Girl, fight back against that vicious spiritual assault by using the best weapon God has given us to defeat the devil—the word of God.

EEW Magazine Online is offering these 6 awesome Scriptures to place in your demon-slaying arsenal:

1. Ephesians 6:12 (NIV)- “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Realize that some of the troubles you face in this world are the work of the enemy. So don’t get caught up fighting against people that seem to have it out for you or worrying over circumstances. You can’t win a battle if you’re blind to who your true enemy is. Your adversary is Satan.

2. Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)- “No weapon formed against you shall prosper...” As a submitted and chosen servant of the Lord, every obstacle that stands in your way will be removed. Every storm will be weathered, and every shackle will be loosed. Since you are a child of God, the weapons the enemy forms against you won’t get the best of you; they will better you—because God will cause the shots Satan fires to either misfire or backfire but always work in your favor.

3. Romans 8:28 (NIV)- “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” The Lord will use the situations that the enemy fights you with to strengthen your character rather than destroy it, to build you up and not tear you down, and to give you victory and not make you a victim! Satan does not have the final say, but the Lord does. So, know that in the end, this trial will produce positive fruit in your life and bring God glory.

4. 1 John 4:4 (NKJV)- “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” The one who comes against you is not stronger than the One who lives within you. Knowing this keeps you from being intimidated when the attack gets especially intense. Remind yourself often that the power you have on your side and in your heart is greater than the power the devil has to oppose you. You are an overcomer because Christ has already overcome. Remain steadfast and full of faith.

5. John 16:33 (NIV)- “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” No one is exempt from trouble. There is no way around it. We all must go through. Nevertheless, have courage and let peace overtake your mind as you are comforted by the knowledge that Christ has already fought your battles and won the victory at Calvary. Therefore, you are more than a conqueror through Him. You can’t lose!

6.) Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)- “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Anything is possible when the Lord is on your side. He wraps your natural weaknesses in His supernatural strength and makes all things possible for you. Don’t let the devil trick you into thinking otherwise. No setback, storm, opposition or struggle is greater than our God, the One who equips you in all circumstances.

When the enemy comes for you next, and you're tempted to give in to discouragement, whip these 6 Scriptures out and cut Satan up with your sword.

If you are currently under attack, meditate on these verses and allow them to strengthen you in your time of need. There is power in God's word!
