How do you see yourself? These Scriptures will show you how GOD sees you
By EEW Magazine Online // Biblical Wisdom
Culture promotes vanity and places a huge emphasis on external beauty. No surprise there! The problem is that women define themselves by what they look like on the outside and as a result develop low self-esteem, lack of confidence, and poor self-image.
To avoid these negative feelings that come along with buying into the world’s myth of beauty, EEW Magazine Online is depositing 6 Scriptures into your heart.
Each one will help you to avoid putting yourself down, to continue to speak what God says about you, and to see yourself as He sees you.
#1 You’re Daddy’s favorite girl. “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15 NLT)
Abba, Father in Hebrew is an intimate name; it’s like saying Daddy. Since you have been adopted into God’s family, you can consider yourself Daddy’s favorite girl and keep your head held high in all situations.
#2 You are royalty. “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9 NIV)
Look at how special you are! You are chosen, unique and set apart, and God calls you royalty. With that kind of description on your divine resume, you have all the confidence you need to straighten your crown and walk in your divinely ascribed authority.
#3 You’ve got the power! “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere…” (Acts 1:8 NLT) Let the world have the shallow, carnal stuff. You possess the real power! In this verse, power is the Greek word Dunamis, meaning miraculous power, might and strength. You have the equipping power of God in your life which makes you the perfect spokesperson to show the world who Jesus is!
#4 You are priceless. “You were bought for a price. So bring glory to God in the way you use your body.” (1 Corinthians 6:20 GWT)
Jesus Christ purchased you with His blood; He gave His life to save you. If that isn’t proof enough that you are a priceless treasure, what is? When you truly believe this Scripture, it forever changes the way you conduct yourself and how view yourself. Your whole existence is for the glorification of the Father.
#5 You can’t help but shine. “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14 NLT)
Hey, beauty. You are radiant. You glow from the inside out. You light up a room when you walk in—and not just because your makeup is flawless, your hair is perfect, and your body is attractive. All those things may be true, but you shine for a different reason. It’s because Christ’s lives in you, and you reflect His glory.
The more view yourself through the prism of the gospel, the more your self-image will mirror the image God has of you.
When you stay anchored in the word of God, you will be more powerful and beauty of righteousness will cause you to stand out.
