Sometimes we ask and thank God for big things, but what about the little things?

Grammy-winning gospel recording artist and host of the nationally syndicated radio show, “Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbell,” prayed a prayer of thanksgiving for the simple things—and EEW Magazine Online is highlighting that prayer to set the tone for your day.

As you press play on the prayer above, meditate on a few things.

We may be looking for God to answer our prayers through grand displays of His power. But there are times when He just wants to use something natural and simple to produce the results for which we’re crying out.

There may not seem to be anything miraculous about blinking. Eating. Having a good cleansing cry. Enjoying a hearty laugh. Taking a slow stroll around the park to clear your head. Sipping on a cool drink. Or stealing away for some relaxing time to refresh and renew. But God will work through any one of these simple, everyday things to produce supernatural results.

The next time you have a conversation with someone close, engage in an activity, or even read or listen to something that leaves you feeling a million times better, that’s what it looks like when God takes the mundane and makes it miraculous.

Miracles don’t always happen in the ways you think they should; God specializes in using the most simplistic means to accomplish His will.

“‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declared the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts’” (Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV).

Open your eyes and see God’s extraordinary power working through ordinary things. The birds. The trees. The blue sky. The warm gentle breeze. The still lake of water. Nature in all its glory.

As you behold its breathtaking beauty, keep in my mind that our majestic God loves to humble Himself and present Himself to us in lowly ways to remind us that He is ever present and always mindful of us.
