Ayesha Curry declines to give marriage tips to Hailey Bieber. Here’s why.

Hailey Bieber, wife of pop star Justin Bieber, who has been married less than four years, asked Ayesha Curry, who is nearing 11 years of marriage, for tips and strategies to build a happy union.
In response, the wife of NBA star Stephen Curry declined. “I wouldn’t have any tips,” Ayesha told the 25-year-old host of the YouTube talk show, Who’s in My Bathroom?
But, why?
The 33-year-old New York Times best-selling cookbook author, whose romantic hubby surprised her with a 10-year vow renewal last year, told the inquisitive model, “Everybody’s relationship is so different, and you’ve just got to do what works for you.”
True indeed.
At a time when folks love to play the role of the know-it-all expert for social media clout, it’s refreshing to see a Christian influencer like Ayesha with such a large platform admit to not knowing everything.
During her guest appearance in Hailey’s literal at-home bathroom, the founder of Sweet July Magazine, did, however, give out one bit of healthy advice.
“Social media’s so dangerous,” Ayesha said, “because you’re looking at the happiest moments of people’s lives I feel like. And you just don’t understand the work that goes into everything and the behind-the-scenes stuff.”
Ayesha believes that when browsing through online images and videos depicting couples’ happy relationships, you “can’t compare.”
While a few breadcrumbs of wisdom were dropped during the mostly light-hearted dinner conversation between the Christian celebs, Ayesha seemed to mostly enjoy having the space to laugh, relax, and enjoy Jamaican cuisine which is part of her heritage.
“That’s my culture. I’m Jamaican,” said Ayesha, while the two ladies ate a delightful traditional Jamaican meal of chicken, plantain, sauteed cabbage, rice and peas, and callaloo,” which drew rave reviews from both women.
The Canadian American, who said her mother, grandmother, and all her aunts are Jamaican, told Hailey, “Anytime I get to sit down and have a meal like this, it makes me feel like I’m with them back at home.”
Ayesha grew up in a small town outside of Toronto called Markham and moved to North Carolina at 14, where she met her future husband at a church youth group. Though Stephen and Ayesha didn’t date immediately despite running in the same peer circle, eventually a romance blossomed.
The couple wed in July 2011, two years after Steph was drafted into the NBA, where he has become a championship winning superstar and the all-time best three-point shooter in the league.
Now, more than a decade later, the baller and the cook are living the dream together, though their schedules are demanding and keep them super busy.
“I often feel like I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off,” said the mom of two daughters, Riley and Ryan, and son, Canon, who confessed that she is not able to balance it all though people often seek her advice on how to do just that.
“I’m trying to find my head on a daily basis, and things are stressful,” she continued. “But I guess I just try to see the silver linings in all of the blessings that are coming my way and try to find gratitude in those small moments.”
Though Ayesha’s family is blessed with trophies, accolades, and all the luxurious trappings of success, she said she doesn’t get caught up in the superficial.
“For me, as long as the kids are healthy [and my] family’s healthy, I try and remain happy and humble in that and kind of just take the opportunities as they come,” she said.
