Those of us that struggle silently often do so because we have a hard time uttering three words: “I need help.” But no one can make it on their own without support.

In times when the battle is raging and you feel like you have had it up to here and can’t go any further, that means you need emergency encouragement! Aside from doing your best to be vocal when you are drowning under the weight of life’s burdens, turn to the Word of God to assist you.

Today, EEW Magazine Online editors are offering up our list of 10 must-read Scriptures to pray, meditate on, and use to shine the light of hope upon you in your darkest (and most stressful!) hours.

Psalm 61:2-3: “From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety, for you are my safe refuge…”

Isaiah 41:13: “For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.”

John 14:27: “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

Psalm 9:9: The LORD is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

Psalm 50:15: “Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”

Isaiah 65:24: “I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!”

1 Peter 5:7: “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

Psalm 32:7: “For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory.”

1 Corinthians 15:57: But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 59:19b NKVJ: When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

Feeling supported is critical to your spiritual, mental, and emotional health. Let the Bible be a source of comfort as you also surround yourself with those who can help lovingly guide you to a place of wholeness.
